4) If I bought you a drink what would it be? A. I'd want to pick something we could get in a place where you'd like to drink with me, and I forget whether you drink alcohol, and I also forget whether you like coffee. If the former, I'd propose we have a beer together; if the latter, I'll have a decaf mocha with whipped cream. If neither, maybe I'll take a Coke?
I do drink on occasion, mostly dark beers: Murphy's Stout or in a pinch Guinness. Very rarely I'll drink liquor, in those circumstances I usually drink gin and tonic. Coffee is much more my drink of preference, leaded please.
10) If you saw me walking down the street would you offer me a ride? A. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to get you into my car. But I'd pull over and say hi, and if it turned out you could use a ride, I'd offer a hand in arranging one. If you didn't need a ride, and we both had time to spare, I'd suggest meeting at the nearest spot where we could get a snack or a drink. Or, if I were walking (which is about as likely as the assumption that I'm driving, really), I'd walk with you.
I'd like that.
17) What if I showed up at your house unexpectedly? A. I suppose first I'd congratulate you on the new stair-climbing wheelchair. :-) Or if you showed up at the bottom of the stairs, I'd (with your permission, of course) bring my cats down to meet you, and then take you out to lunch.
*chuckle*
18) What was your first impression of me? (hmmm...careful!) A. On the newsgroup, I don't even remember meeting you. In person, that you were really friendly, and had a very comfortable manner -- I was more at ease with you more quickly than is ordinarily the case when I meet new people.
That may be one of the nicest things anyone has said about me. Thank you very much.
