You're not the only one disappointed! I was fortunate to get my hands on "Labor's Untold Story," published by the UE. Set me straight about labor history, which I heard zero about in school. My great-grandfather was an organizer in the Lawrence Mass textile strikes, so my mom stressed the human cost & labor origin of weekends and health/safety laws.
