My inner Catholic is beating me up

At least I think he is. Recently, I replied to someone on alt.poly in what could fairly be characterized as a heated manner. The person I responded to then unsubscribed from alt.poly. I still agree with what I said to her, but I don't feel very good that I played any part in chasing her away from the group. I'm not really looking for any responses I just wanted to put this here.

You could always write to the person privately and say "hey don't leave on account of me" -- it would at least assuage your inner guilt :)

Don't blame yourself --- she's right about the dynamic she experiences on the group. She doesn't feel moved to contribute on poly issues; she does contribute when she's annoyed by something, and her annoyance tends to override her reasonableness in a way that doesn't play well on alt.poly. Or so it looks from over here.
