Anthony Bourdain was recently stuck in Beirut while filming a travel show. Here's a quote of his that has me thinking

For the whole time I was there I was often in the bizarre and somehow shameful position of watching a country dismantled before my eyes from a relatively comfortable distance.

Yeah that's what struck me. It also speaks a bit to how I'm feeling about things there.
