Are any of you folk watching Drive? The Executive Director, Tim Minear wrote and/or directed several episodes of Angel and some of Serenity (including one of my favorites Out of Gas). Nathan Fillion is one of the main characters (I guess he is the main character, but this show seems to be more of an ensemble than a show driven by main characters). His kidnapped wife is being played by Amy Acker from Angel.
I just watched the premiere on tape and caught the first episode last night. It's really fun so far. Complex enough to keep you thinking, but lots of driving action. I'm enjoying it.

Actors working
It's just a little too far out for me. I think they really lost me with the whole cop / car swap ruse. I mean, come on! The rest has been marginally believable, but that was just too over the top for me.
Maybe you can explain the merits to me...
Re: Actors working
I found it entertaining. Clearly you didn't.

I thought the cop/car swap thing wasn't partiicularly unbelieveable. Especially if one buys an illegal car race that's existed for at least twenty years in secret.

Probably not. I'm not much for convencing folk to watch TV shows they don't like.
Re: Actors working
I could almost buy the secret car race, if it were just that. But a car race linked to bank robberies, kidnappings and the death of two parents seems a little difficult to keep secret for long. That stuff is where it loses traction for me. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I feel like they are trying too hard and going over the top for the "24" and "Lost" audiences.
I was kinda hoping for something a little more whimsical I suppose, in the vein of this goofy movie (early 80's) I remember that had a sort of treasure hunt / scavenger hunt by car all around LA.
Oh well.

Yep, they're interesting. I guess I like the Twiligh Zone-ish quality of some of it too.

*nods* I guess all of those are "the given" in the series for me, that they can keep it all secret, but then I really like Lost and to a much lesser extent these days, 24.
