I don't think it's just a crush on the author.

Actually, your praise really pleases me, because I was one of her critiquers on these two; she assembled a team of folks to read before she posted and comment.

The most interesting thing to me was how different the comments from people of color were from the comments of white folks: not that any of us was maybe better than each other, but different, way different.
