Hello out there, hello

With the goal of first trying to get back to writing in this thing and second not to think about all the *shit* going on with various members of my family, I'll write something inconsequential. Has anybody been watching Being Human? It's on BBC America here in the Bay Area. The show is about three roommates basically, one is a vampire who fought in the first world war. Another is a werewolf and the third is a ghost of the previous renter. It started out fairly mundane even a little boring, but the last two or three episodes have really picked up. It doesn't hurt that I think the woman who plays the ghost is very cute. Although it started fairly light weight, specially the last episode has some interesting conflicts.

I find the pairing of a vampire and a ghost fascinating. Especially in the 5th episode, when the door appears. I know there's a word for what I mean but I can't think of it. You have a character who's a vampire and I think vampires are a symbol of our fear of death. Except for some specific circumstances and a vampire never has to die. I know you could say they are already dead, but they certainly act like they are alive and are much harder to kill than your average human. Then you have a ghost who (if they existed) would be comforting in that they are proof that something happens after we die.

When the door appears in their apartment for Annie to use to go on to something else. She is scared to go through it. She has the opportunity to find out what ultimately happens after death and is conflicted. Mitchell, our vampire, may very well have forfeited any chance at going on. He may never know what's beyond the door. I'm not sure I'm expressing myself well. Perhaps I'll try again when I'm more mentally here. Anyway those who haven't caught the show really should try to see it. It's pretty good.

I should probably just delete this and start over but I probably wouldn't start over. So, be gentle with me.

I haven't been watching it (or this space very closely, sorry). But I will check it out!
