1. What was the first band you saw in concert?

Emerson, Lake and Palmer

2. Who is your favorite artist/band now?

Gad zooks! How can anyone answer a question like that? I've got gobs of them and they change all the time. A few are: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Melanie, Joni Mitchell, Joan Jett, Beth Orton, Ani DiFranco, Dr. John, They Might Be Giants, John Gorka, John Prine, Vodoun Beat etc. etc. etc.

3. What's your favorite song?

Again, how does one answer such a question? I have many, but "Stairway to Heaven" still gets me going. I know. I know, it's pathetic.

4. If you could play any instrument, what would it be?

Guitar.

5. If you could meet any musical icon (past or present), who would it be and why?

John Lennon, because I think he would have been a kind and considerate person to sit and have coffee/tea with. I also see his influence in much of the music that I really like.

*shrug* I could be wrong. It's an impression after all and I never met the man. I don't mean that he wasn't necessarily confrontational especially to interviewers. I just thought if the two of us were sitting at a table, with nothing else to do but talk. It would be a pleasant, interesting conversation.

I'm definitely with you on choosing John Lennon. He'd be my choice, too, hands down. Of course, in one of my recent journal entries, I chose "Imagine" as the song I would want to serve as the theme song for a movie of my life. :)

I'm so glad you like Gorka. And "Stairway to Heaven" is the first song I learned to fingerpick on the guitar. :-)
