serenejournal Update

serenejournal wants me to let people know that she has a job! On her way home from visiting someotherguy's family I got a call from a temp service she had registered with, I called her on the road and she called them back. She now has a three to four month gig with [FedEx] in Oakland.

I've assured her this is clear evidence that her move to the Bay Area was meant to be. When she first started talking about moving up here, we made a list of things-that-would-be-good-to-have-or-be-near-in-the-new-place. As far as I can tell, she got everything except having a wheelchair accessible place. I knew she was a little nervous about not having a job when she moved up here. Now with perfect timing a job appears. She is still looking for a permanent position, but the pressure of getting bills paid for the next few months is off.

I'm sorry about her space not being wheelchair accessible, though. I'm glad about the job!

I knew going in that the wheelchair accessible part was a long shot. There just aren't that many living spaces that are wheelchair accessible and this being the East Bay, folks in wheelchairs tend to gobble them up (as they should). I will admit to being wistful about the prospect of being able to hang out with my sweetie at her place. We will just have to spend more time in my place and her being 20 minutes away is a vast improvement over San Diego.
