Feel free to ignore this, I'm obviously desperate for attention.

Memory of me meme:

Invent a memory of me and post it in the comments. It can be anything you want, so long as it's something that's never happened. Then, of course, post this to your journal and see what people would like to remember of you, only the universe failed to cooperate in making it happen so they had to make it up instead

I remember Kenya in '79. I told you that it wasn't sporting to hunt elephants with field artillery and forward spotters. So you moved our fire base to the summit of Kilimanjaro. I had to call in favors so we could use the live KH-11 feeds to track the herds.

*chuckle* I'm still pulling the grass out of my wheels from there.

I remember the day you told me the other reason you're "the lizard boy", and introduced me to the entire tribe, all scaly and colorful and affectionate not only to you, their adoptive brother, but to me, purely because I was with you.

I'm sorry it took so long to get Melinda back home, but she was having such a good time enjoying the sites and cuisines of New York City.

It was just fine. I still enjoy Melinda's tales from New York. I especially loved your encounter with the tunnel-people.

The day we met rises first to mind, but how could it not? That cafe on the Rue de Palais, you smoking your last (you swore it was) Gaulois, me just getting over a failed romance with a starving artist whose tastes ran more toward granite than human flesh. You distracted me from my pain with really bad puns in Vietnamese, pain au chocolat with strong coffee, and your contact juggling skills. You were just artful enough not to make me fall for you, for which I remain grateful. You knew I needed a friend more than a rebound relationship.

This one's my favorite. Accordian music still reminds me of that evening. Remember the flower peddler and the siamese cat?

I remember

The day you taught me to ski. It was a cold clear day, high in the Alps. You wore the red ski cap that I love so much, with the multi-colored tassels on top. You were tough on me, but in the end it was tough-love. You helped me get over my fear. As I headed down the hill for the first time, you were right there with me, urging me to go faster, faster, faster! Oh the exhilaration!

And the fire afterwards in the lodge where we cuddled, I can still smell the hot Swiss chocolate... oh maybe that's just my Hersey bar. Well, anyway, I remember it as though it were yesterday.
