I've tried to write this a few times now. In less than four days I get to see, hold, and "play with" the beautiful [livejournal.com profile] serenejournal! :-) I am beside myself with joy. At the very same time my partner Carol is stressed to the max because her other partner is in the hospital with a serious infection. Her OSO has been operated on twice and is finally doing better. I feel disloyal for being so happy and a little angry that Carol's other partner had to get sick now. (I know, it's selfish of me). It has been a magnificent and trying two months.

On the lighter side, I saw Daredevil yesterday with Carol. I think she was able to relax a little. Which made me happy. I really didn't like Ben Affleck as Daredevil. He pretty much phoned in his performance. Jennifer Garner was great! I forget the actors name, but the fellows who played Kingpin and Bull's-eye were a lot of fun. I just loved the titles! I had a minor quibble with how some of the fighting sequences were filmed. It felt like they were framed to close to the action. I had a hard time seeing what was going on, but maybe I'm just getting old. The director certainly read Frank Miller's Daredevil comics. Many of the visuals reminded me strongly of Frank Miller's style. Which is a good thing. Fair Warning: it is much more graphically violent than I expected. I should have known better, Frank Miller is not exactly shy when it comes to the blood. I guess I expected it to be toned down for film. It wasn't. There are a couple murders perpetrated by Bull's-eye that are pretty rough IMHO.
