1. How did you and [personal profile] serenejournal get together, and when did you know it was going somewhere?

The canonical answer is that she stalked me. The rest is subject to discussion. I remember that she "heart"ed a post I made on alt.poly. Which started a flirty e-mail exchange. [personal profile] serenejournal is of course completely free to correct me on any of this and I would believe her before me. Anyway, eventually she YM'ed me and we chatted online. We chatted or e-mailed pretty extensively (we still do) and she came up to visit in January. We decided we loved each other before we met, but we realized it was going somewhere after we made-out at Mel's Diner in Berkeley.

2. What's the strangest food you've ever eaten, and how did you like it?

Rattlesnake? Flying fish eggs? Squid? Goat? Buffalo? Hard to say what is the strangest. I like all of them except perhaps the goat, but I'm told by someone who knows that it wasn't cooked properly. I found the goat very chewy. I am what I consider a picky eater, but I do kind of get off on eating things that freak people out. Fortunately my family is easily freaked out.

3. Do you have siblings, and how did having/not having them help shape you into who you are now? Bonus question: If you have more than one, where are you in the chronological pecking order?

I'm the oldest of 4. I think I have all of the traditional firstborn things. I am pretty paternal to my siblings. Nowadays I have to try very hard not to have them defer to me when we are making plans. I feel a lot of responsibility towards them and I struggle with letting them live their own lives. Of all my siblings I'm the only one who really separated myself from my parents. I see them two or three times a year. Where the rest of my family sees my parents every few days.

4. How do you deal with stress - specifically, that is: What do you do when things get too stressy?

I like to have sex. If that isn't possible, a good scream helps. If I can't do that I try to concentrate on keeping my breathing regular for five or ten minutes.

5. What Stuff do you own that you'd just as soon not own? What keeps you from getting rid of it?

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. Having something that I don't want to own?

I certainly have excess baggage in both senses, but I mostly want to keep that junk. I'm an unrepentant packrat. As far as emotional baggage goes, I want to be aware of it because I don't want it to run my life. However, most of it is too closely identified with me or why I became who I am, that I am unwilling to get rid of it.

Feel free to .sig it if you like. I would be honored.
