I'm not sure what's going on with my LJ and don't want to seem like I'm begging for comments. I just sorta thought I'd get a few comments from my last post. Did anyone see this post?

No, I didn't see it at all. Sometimes LJ gets weird.

And I am very sorry for your loss.

I've just read your post, I'd missed it earlier.

I am sorry for your loss. I'm glad you shared your memories.

No, it didn't show up on my friendslist. I got an email for this specific post because I set up a tracking pin to tell me every time you post, but I may have done it after your post about Gilly. I was actually surprised that you and [livejournal.com profile] loracs hadn't written anything about her.

Oh, sweetie, of course not, and I do hope that didn't sound like a criticism!

I didn't take it that way at all. I'm just having a hard time. I thought I'd write something right away, but it just won't come.

Count me in as "didn't see it." I did see Betty's post, so I knew it was over (but I was on a flaky connection, so I couldn't answer Betty).

Aside from my own feelings about Gilly, and about you, I admire your writing in this post a lot.

No problem. I really didn't want to seem like I was pressuring people to respond. I just thought it was awfully quiet out there after that post. :-)

The post didn't show up on my friends list for some reason -- I find LJ does that sometimes, it just... drops posts.

I'll go read it right now.

It didn't show up on my friendslist. It's a lovely tribute, though; thank you for linking back to it.

It never did hit my friends page. That's the second time recently that I've noticed that a post to which someone directed me hadn't showed up on my page -- I wonder whether LJ's having problems, and if so, whether they also affect non-LJ RSS readers. Annoying. :-(

It took me a while to write it and I saved it as a private post while I worked on it. However when I made it public, I did change the date to the current one. I thought that would solve the problem but it didn't.

It didn't show up on my friends page either. Sometimes LJ seems to just flake on pushing every post to the friends page, but I also know that if it thinks you have "backdated" a post, it deliberately does not show that post on friends pages. And depending on what client you use, if you just start a post, leave it, and go back to it later, it might think you've backdated it.

I did write it as a private post because it took me a while to finish. So it was saved several times. However when I made the post public I did change the date and time to the current one (as of the time I posted). I'm sure that's what's messing it up. It's annoying that they can't seem fix that though.

yeah, that messes it up (i didn't see it either, and it looks like nobody did). and they probably won't fix it because it's sort of considered a feature.

i am very sorry for your loss. damn. :/

If I am thinking about this, I sometimes cut and paste the text into a new post. But it sux to have to think about it.

I hadn't seen the post. I've found that when livejournal assembles people's friends pages, it not infrequently just skips some posts (and will consistently skip the same posts if you reload the page). I don't know what makes a post get skipped, if it's totally random, or what. I gave up filing bug reports on this years ago, but at any time if I go and look at an individual user's page, I can find posts that I never saw, and still can't see if I load up my friends page and look at that time frame, so it seems to happen with some regularity. It's why when people post polls that say things like, "Click here if you want to stay on my friends list," I'll usually suggest that they post one or two reminders at later dates.

(Comment on post posted there.)
