The Trip

As some may have noted from serenejournal's journal, I won't be going to San Diego on Labor Day weekend. I solved most of my difficulty with the train trip. Thank you sogwife, someotherguy, and everyone who offered suggestions and or tried to figure out how to come help me out. I really appreciate all the good wishes and assistance.

Here's an example of starting out with a good idea and hanging on to a not completely thought out detail. I started out thinking about a trip on Labor Day because the three-day weekend would give me more time with serenejournal. After buying the train ticket, we found out that hotels would be a little more pricey that weekend than normal. Much more pricey than I budgeted. Plus, with the added travel time we would actually spend much less time together than we usually do on our visits.

The better plan this time around (considering our budgets, time, her car and her energy level) turned out to be buying serenejournal a plane ticket up here. We get to spend three nights two days together!

I will go down there by train sometime in the near future. After figuring out the logistics I was really looking forward to the adventure!

Sorry it didn't work out this time, but glad you were able to create a positive solution for both of you. Will you be having another lunch locally? We're in town that weekend, along with garybear and who_is_she who are visiting from Seattle.
