[personal profile] lcohen is visiting the Bay Area and I got to meet her! My sweetie [personal profile] serenejournal, and [personal profile] someotherguy brought East Village Seafood Restaurant food over. Which is, in my humble opinion, the best Chinese food near my house. [personal profile] wild_irises and [profile] abostick were in attendance, as was my live-in sweetie Carol and her sweetie and my housemate Betty.

What I have recently discovered from meeting people in person that I have known online is they are almost always much better looking and much more fun in person. [personal profile] lcohen is a fine example of another proof of my theory. Although I was told by her repeatedly that I must think of her as the "mean one" she is very sweet and interesting and really wants to know what people think about important things. She is also completely happy to spend the evening making silly jokes. The perfect evening companion. We all had great fun laughing and talking. [personal profile] lcohen also contributed to Carol's Christmas decorations with nothing but some typing paper and scissors.

We topped off the evening with apple pie that [personal profile] serenejournal made. I have been pineing away for my late Grandmother's apple pie. I don't exactly know where Grandma learned to make it, but her apple pie didn't have any of that starchy filling but did have a preponderance of cinnamon. In fact, more cinnamon than any sane human should really want. However that's the apple pie I grew up with and no one else's is quite as good. [personal profile] serenejournal's version was wonderful!

I know I get depressed. I whine about my life at times, but I really do have a remarkable life. Good friends, great chosen family and for some reason they like hanging out with me.
