This is the first week of the kid's program at Studio One (where Carol works). It's a tough week for Carol, my live-in sweetie. She pretty much comes home and crashes. Which nixes my desire for noisy, athletic sex (like I could do that :-) or to go to a really loud "angry white girl/guy band" concert. No possibility of that, so I will probably watch the usual Thursday lineup of Friends etc. on television.

I finally saw this week's Buffy on tape. Did folks notice that the preacher guy was one of the main characters on Firefly? I think he's even using the same stupid accent. What makes me think that this whole season has been a way for Josh to have a reunion with all his actor friends? I'm also wondering why the big evil thing can only look like dead people except for Buffy? Are we supposed to think that she's dead? Carol did not enjoy this particular episode. I'm not sure that I did either. Although I really enjoyed Xander's dream :-) Seriously though, his speech to the baby slayers was very moving. The show has been very dark this year.

Buffy has died twice.

You took the words right out of my mouth! :)

And they said awhile back that what opened the door for the FIrst was the way Willow et al. pulled Buffy back -- she was supposed to stay dead, but she didn't.

Actually, the prophet eyeball thingie only said that Buffy herself had opened the door. It was Giles and Anya who interpreted that to mean that it was about her magical resurrection ... but we haven't yet learned whether their guess was accurate.

Hrm, was that all it said? Could've sworn there was something about her not being dead when she should be in there...

Because you made me all curious, I looked up the dialogue online. Handy that so many people are obsesso-fans and keep track of this stuff. ;)

BELJOXA'S EYE: The mystical forces surrounding the chosen line have become irrevocably altered, become unstable, vulnerable.

ANYA: Something The First did?

BELJOXA'S EYE: The First Evil did not cause the disruption, only seized upon it to extinguish the lives of the chosen forever.

GILES: Then what has caused the disruption? What—what is responsible for letting this happen?

BELJOXA'S EYE: The slayer.

Oh, I hit enter too soon. I meant to add that this could be referring, for example, to Buffy's first resurrection, which resulted in the splitting of the Slayer line. There are 2 Slayers now, instead of only 1. It could be interpreted a lot of different ways, but Giles and Anya latched onto one and ran with it ... and then it never got mentioned again. I imagine we'll be hearing about it again soon, since there are only 4 more episodes left. :)

Oh, *now* I remember!
