I met with the beautiful [personal profile] serenejournal and her sweetie, [personal profile] someotherguy Friday. She had a job interview in San Francisco and wanted a native guide to make sure she got there on time. Besides it's been over two months since we've seen each other! They met me at my place and Carol drove us to San Leandro BART station.

We went to lunch before the interview. [personal profile] serenejournal managed to point out that of all the fine eateries I could have taken them to I managed to pick a mall. In my defense, I'll only point out that I was concerned about getting her to the interview on time. The closest place with decent food I knew of was at the mall. I think everyone enjoyed themselves despite my pedestrian choice.

We only had time to see a little bit of Market Street. Found a flea market in the Civic Center where [personal profile] serenejournal got exposed to some of the local color. An opinionated pedestrian who felt the need to share his dislike for Martha Stewart, an offer of marriage (or was it a baser proposal?) from a man of the street and the attentions of a sweet peddler who fancied himself quite the comedian.

While [personal profile] serenejournal was interviewing, [personal profile] someotherguy and I got a chance to hang out with for awhile. We shared some coffee and attempted to solve the world problems. Actually, we talked about him helping me get my house more automated with X-10. I'm pretty excited about the prospect of being able to turn on and off lights, heat/air-conditioning, maybe have a camera at the front door so I can let people in without leaving my study. *bouncy bouncy* I very much enjoyed getting to know him a little better.

I spent entirely too much time yesterday thinking it was Sunday. I got stuck watching truly atrocious TV. While turning channels the remote control gave out and I ended up on WB. Watching things called, "The 5th Wheel" and then "Blind Date". Eventually something worth watching, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".

Today I will probably watch Spike Lee's "the 25th hour" with Ed Norton. Man he's good!

I've had a meeting-other-sweetie weekend, too. Was nice. I'm glad yours was. :)

I recommend talking to people who have experience with X10 before committing to it. I used it for one light and it mysteriously stopped working. [livejournal.com profile] rdiamond used to have it but found it unreliable.

Gotta be better than nothing. Do you know of any comparable systems that are better?

I had a wonderful (but too short) time with you, and I loved my lunch. :-)

Well, I scoured the city to find exactly the right mall.
