Okay, that really sucks. You win the "my day sucked" title for the day (this is not intended ironically or sarcastically, in case it isn't obvious).
I guess the thing to do now is damage control -- what are the consequences of your not being able to get to the meeting? Will the BART board get pissy about it? Definitely you need to do something soonest about smoothing any ruffled feathers, because naturally you don't want this to affect the project, comme un dit, adversely.
