Television

I guess my taste in television doesn't align with most people. Of the new shows this year, most of my favorites are gone. After rhapsodizing about Drive, it got canceled after two episodes aired. The Nine is gone as is The Black Donnelly's. Studio 60 is still not officially canceled, but it certainly looks like it's headed that way. Evidently my tastes in television, sucks!

Sorry to hear that

What I saw of these shows I liked. Everyone at work is all obsessed with the "reality" shows like dancing with the stars, the biggest looser,American idol etc such drek. I will admit to liking servivor and the amazing race but the rest of them you can keep.

We really enjoyed Drive, too! And I liked Studio 60, although I liked the first half of the season better (when it was an ensemble show about making a tv show) than the second (when it was about a old man stalking a younger woman and his best friend who is verbally abusive of the woman he purports to love).

Our taste doesn't suck: taste isn't run by democracy. There just aren't enough people like us to sell advertising for.

Thank goodness your taste doesn't align with "most people"! Those people are watching "Dancing with the Stars" and "American Idol". These are the shows I hear discussed in the lunchroom at work. Do you really want to beleive that they have more taste than you do?

You like television that makes you think, gives you something to discuss. "Most people" seem to prefer the celebrity fast track these days. I know I don't find that very interesting.

I'm with you on Studio 60, I keep hoping that it will find it's way back. Is there anyone we can write to about that?

I admit to watching American Idol, but hey, I'm keeping my finger on the pulse of popular culture, right?

I really liked The Nine, and I'm pissed that it is gone.

the others I didn't watch.

as time goes on, I find I get less and less involved in network TV.

No, dear, it's the lowest common denominators' taste in tv that sucks. You know, the ones to whom the networks cater, because they're the largest demographic, and, therefore, the largest cash cow.
