And it had two attachments: Dear Mr. Thomas,
The purpose of this letter is to express our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you experienced with respect the conduct of our Security Officer at the West Gate Mall in San Leandro.
We are sorry for your frustration and also to learn that this is not the first time you have found the security vehicle parked in the disabled stall. Especially since it is Securitas USA policy that actions taken by our Company and by each employee should be lawful and satisfy high ethical and moral standards. The Security Officer’s conduct was not acceptable and we will take appropriate corrective action, including additional training of all Security Officers assigned at the West Gate Mall.
Securitas USA has taken measures to reiterate with Officers the applicable State laws for parking spaces for the disabled. Additionally, we will ensure that Officers assigned at this site participate in training addressing your specific concerns by completing Securitas courses in Traffic Control and Parking Lot Security, Public Relations and Customer Service Essentials.
It goes without saying that your experience with our security officer should not have been an unpleasant one. It is important for all of our employees to build trust with customers, colleagues and the surrounding community
Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention and we sincerely hope that you will have no further cause for complaint in relation to our service.
Sincerely,

Subject: Parking in Spaces for the Disabled
It has recently been brought to our attention that Security Officers are parking the Security vehicle in a stall and in the area adjacent to the parking stall designated for disabled persons.
It is unlawful for any person to park or leave standing any vehicle in a stall or space designated for disabled persons and disabled veterans pursuant to Section 22511.7 or 22511.8, unless the vehicle displays either a special identification license plate issued pursuant to Section 5007 or a distinguishing placard issued pursuant to Section 22511.55 or 22511.59 and in any area of the pavement adjacent to a parking stall or space designated for disabled persons that is marked by crosshatched lines and is thereby designated for the loading and unloading of vehicles parked in the stall or space.
Security Officers are not authorized to park in parking stalls designated for disabled persons at any time. Please be advised that if a ticket is received for such violation, the Security Officer responsible will need to remit payment for such infraction. Further, continued violations of such will be grounds for disciplinary action.
It is Securitas USA policy that actions taken by our Company and by each employee should be lawful and satisfy high ethical and moral standards. All employees should be alert to situations that could result in the violation of a Company policy. As a reminder, as security officers you must strive to conduct business according to our core values:
• Integrity-The Customer feels comfortable allowing us to work on their premises, knowing that we
are trustworthy
• Vigilance - Our industry is based upon watchfulness, seeing, hearing, protecting, evaluating and
reporting
