For those of you who don't read [personal profile] serenejournal, I spent Memorial Day weekend with her mostly watching movies and eating junk food. Although, we did take a short excursion to San Jose on Sunday for some mighty fine appreciation of eye candy. We went to lunch at the Doubletree where Baycon, was being held. Saw quite a few friends for the amount of time we were there. [personal profile] the_ogre, [personal profile] rmjwell, Ruth Anne, [profile] deedeebythebay, [personal profile] nolly, [profile] gailg. Met a couple of new people Rebecca (who I believe has a livejournal, but I can't for the life of me remember her handle) and Z. I saw other recognizable folk that I'm sure are on livejournal but who I have not necessarily connected faces with names and handles. Fell in lust on several occasions, man some of those costumes!

I used to go to Baycon every year from the second one to about the 13th. Somewhere in there Wiscon moved their convention to Memorial Day weekend and lots of the folk I used to want to see stopped coming to Baycon. So I decided to stop going as well. Since I couldn't afford a trip to Wiscon or any nonlocal convention, I stopped going to conventions much. After this weekend, I'm starting to think I may start attending Baycon again. There were lots of folk I don't get to see very often and I'd like to see them more.

Grrrr

Anybody know the way to get to a person at Yahoo's support? I'm mightily annoyed at them right now. About a month ago, I either screwed up my Yahoo account or it was hacked. My Yahoo account ID used to be: GuyWT. I have a lot of trouble with keeping track of my passwords etc. So, I use Norton Utilities password manager. I'm not sure how it happen but my password (in Norton Utilities, I think) got changed when I tried to log-on Yahoo kept telling me that my ID or my password were incorrect. After some triple and quadruple attempts at trying all the variations of password and online name I use, I gave up and tried to get a new password. I got the place where they ask for your city, ZIP code and birthday to confirm your identity before they send you a new password. All went well, I got my new password used it to get to the account management area and restored my old password because it's one that I can remember relatively easily.

The next day, I tried to log-on to my account. So, I could change some lists I was on and found out I couldn't log-on again. I was sure I was using the correct password (after all I had just changed it the previous day). Anyway I made several attempts with all the different combinations of account name and password with no results. Again, I applied to get a temporary password, but this time I received an error message that said the information in my Yahoo account didn't match what I gave them. Now the information they want is my birth date, city I live in and ZIP code of the city I live in. Not exactly things I'm likely to forget and yet the information I know is correct somehow doesn't match what Yahoo has for me. I went ahead and started a new account, but since I can't get into my old account I'm unable to a unsubscribe from mailing lists that I am on. I don't want to subscribe to the same mailing lists with my new account unless I can unsubscribe my old account. I sent e-mail to Yahoo several times with no response except to ask me how satisfied I was with their support services. Given they hadn't answered my question, they rated poorly. I really don't know what else to do. I would like my old account back, but that isn't utterly necessary. I would like to cancel my mail from the old account so I can resubscribe using my new account and be able to manage the lists. Any suggestions?
