Yes, I watch entirely too much TV. It's the new season and since I don't have Tivo. I've been keeping myself and 2 video recorders busy. I thought I would write a little about what I'm watching and what I think about it. These comments won't be very in-depth, but here they are.

Whoopi: It's been quite awhile since I liked Whoopi Goldberg. I mainly cauught this because there wasn't anything new against it. After watching two episodes, I'm not watching anymore. The humor is pretty much all about race. We get to laugh at the silly Persian, the white wannabe black woman who's involved with Whoopi's black "white acting" brother.

I saw the first Jack 2.0. There isn't anything original about it. Put Spiderman, The Six Million Dollar man, add a little man from U.N.C.L.E. and you've got the show. I am hoping it will get better. I like the main character. I like the guy trying to train him and I even like their boss. They could get rid of his love interest right now as far as I'm concerned. There's potential here if the writing gets a better real soon.

My nomination for the worst television show ever: Faith and Hope.

My two favorite new television shows so far are: Joan of Arcadia and The Handler. Joan is about the teenage daughter of a police chief. Who starts to have conversations with God. I had thought it would be a version of Touched by an Angel, but this show has some real potential. She's the middle child of 3 kids. Her older brother was hit by a car a year ago and is paralyzed from the waist down. Her younger brother is a stereotypical computer geek. Joe Montagna plays the father and Mary Steenburgen is Mom. Both excellent actor's. I'm a little worried that the plan is to heal the brother. For obvious reasons I hope that doesn't happen. The actor who plays Joan is very very cute. I hope she's playing a much younger character than she actually is or my thoughts about her may be inappropriate (they may be inappropriate anyway she's awfully young :-). Anyway good stuff.

The Handler stars Joe Pantoliano (I think that's how he spells it) who just won an Emmy for his part in the Sopranos. Not much to say about the show right now, but it also has potential.

At this point the only new show I'm looking forward to is Tru Calling with Eliza Dushku (OK, I'm too lazy to look up the spelling of these names, but she played Faith on Buffy).

I hated the first episode of the American version of Coupling. Now I haven't seen the British version, although I plan to, but this version sucked. One really good joke in the whole episode. The one when the guy asked for the condom. I will probably continue to watch it however because it is part of NBC's Thursday lineup.

That's probably enough for now. Oh is anybody else watching Enterprise or am I the only true believer? What do people think of the changes? I'm not sure that I like them.

i'm pretty much with you on those impressions -- whoopi made me yawn (which is sad because i used to like her), the US version of "coupling" sucks (and i have seen the british version), "jake 2.0" looks like it could be ok, but i am not expecting much in any case, and both "the handler" and "joan of arcadia" look promising, especially the latter.

i don't think amber tamblyn is as young as she looks; she's been a soap actress for years -- she's about 20, i think. i looked her up last year when she was on "without a trace".

enterprise -- *yawn*. if it weren't for the occasional appearance of t'pol in underwear, i'd probably not bother at all. i've grown extremely tired of the roddenberry franchise, though i do keep watching when i come across it accidentally. ok, i like the doctor. hm. i liked the doctor on voyager too. maybe i have a thing for doctors. as to the changes -- the only obvious changes i've noticed have been to t'pol's hairdo and outfits (but i admit to not paying much attention). since they've not gone away from the catsuits (which i consider declassé) i am not in favour. i'd like her to look more like an officer, and i think one can cater to the juvenile section of the audience and yet leave something to be imagination. (i thought the same about 7 of 9.)

T'Pol doesn't do much for me actually. In pajamas or out. Now the communications officer, yum! I guess I'm with you about the Star Trek franchise. I find myself watching it more out of a yearning for the feeling I got when watching the original. I miss good television sci-fi. I would love to see some kind of non-pseudo military continuing science-fiction series. I was really hoping that Firefly would stay on long enough to gather an audience. Right now, SF on television seems to be dying.
