Nov. 5th, 2003 01:32 pm(answering a question from
kightp on what I'm dreaming about lately.)
One where I'd dive off a huge and complicated scaffolding with hundreds of people on diving boards at various heights. As I dive, it occurs to me that I can fly and I go swooping around my subdivision on Sunset Avenue in Los Angeles. After a while, I realize that I'm not actually flying but falling. I wake up before I hit the ground.
The second dream starts with me waking up in my bed. I go down the hall to the bathroom. I'm not disabled in my dream. Although, I'm at the age that I would have been using straight-leg braces and crutches. As I walk down the hall, I hear the voices of my parents but they aren't speaking English. There speaking some "alien sounding" language. I peak into the front room as they are removing their "faces" to reveal what sometimes looks like a stereotypical green Martian face or sometimes they are robots.
These days I don't dream much, or at least I don't remember them. If we are talking daydreams, I have a few, but then again too few to mention. (Why do I hear Frank Sinatra in my head? :-) Anyway,
serenejournal and
someotherguy are planning to move to the Bay Area at some point. I have lots of daydreams about casually calling her up and going to a movie. Seeing her more than one weekend every month or so. We would like to take some short trip trips together. Maybe to Monterey or Vegas/Reno. I look forward to getting to know
someotherguy better. Except for a few e-mails, a couple phone conversations, and meeting face-to-face for an afternoon we haven't had much time to do that. The three of us might even be going into business together. We are at the very beginnings of talking about it. I will give more details when it is a lot further along than the dreaming stage.
I am currently lusting after an IBot . Unfortunately, Medi-Cal isn't buying them yet and durable medical gets even more complicated when you are Medi-Cal and Medicare eligible (which I happen to be). The IBot also requires one pretty functional arm. Which I don't really have. I'm hoping they will make it compatible with current alternate wheelchair driving systems, but they're not talking about that right now.
I want to go Europe. I've never really been out of the country and I would love to go Amsterdam and Paris. I have a specific recurring fantasy of walking down the Champs Elysees (sp?) all by myself. I have two versions of my European trip. One is very ambitious the other is the minimum amount of what I'd like to do. If I couldn't manage anything else I would still like to go visit Amsterdam.
I'm a second generation my Mom's side. Her parents came the United States on steerage. From Denmark and the Netherlands. I know my grandfather was born in Aalborg, Denmark. So the big plan would be to check out many of my ancestrial homelands namely, Denmark (Aalborg), the Netherlands, England, Ireland. I have no blood ties to France, but I want to go there anyway.
That's some of what's going on in my head lately
