1) What is your earliest memory?
My first memory is seeing a cousin of mine standing near a bookcase with one of those poofy pink dresses that little girls used to wear.
2) What was the best class you ever took? Why?
It was Improvisational Acting, at Laney College with Lew Levinson. The group of people that I worked with were very supportive and exactly what I needed at that time in my life.
3) What do you wear to a big meeting when you need to feel tough and fabulous? What do you put on for comfort when you get home from such a meeting?
I sometimes wear my brown fedora to such meetings. I don't change cloths much, at least on a given day, so I'm not sure what I would wear for comfort.
4) What cause/s do you give money or time to/would if you had it to spare?
The Center for Independent Living, in Berkeley; the Green Party; Greenpeace; the Center for Accessible Ttechnology; the local poly community.
5) What's the one food you can't stand?
Anything pickled.
6) The "Dead Poets Society" Special - Did you have a teacher who really reached you? Still in touch with that person?
For the record, I hated that movie! I've been fortunate to have several. Mrs. Stember, Mr. Green, Lew Levinson, Lorne Buchman. I'm not in touch with any of them. I'm pretty bad at keeping in touch.
7) The Eve Ensler Special - if your vagina could talk to the government for 15 seconds, what would it say?
Not having a vagina, I don't think it would say anything.
8) The Frank Herbert Special - What do you most despise?
Bullies.
9) The Harry Potter Special - Which Hogwarts House would you be in - Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin? (For non-Potter readers: this question basically asks, which is your most salient characteristic: courageous, hard-working, intelligent, or ambitious? Characteristics in the same order as the houses, there.)
I'm not really sure. Gryffindor?
10) The Freud-Did-Say-One-Smart-Thing Special - His formula for happiness was work and love. Got both? Got one more than the other? Which do you feel you need to put more effort into?
I have a complicated relationship with work. I definitely have great love in my life.
11) The Carl Sagan Special - Are you more influenced by science or faith?
I have faith in science. :-)
12) The "Dave" Special - If you were suddenly President of the US, what one project would you focus the most attention on?
There are plenty of really good answers to this question. Economic equity would probably be the big one. A more realistic goal might be universal health-care. Based on an independent living model.
13) The "A Christmas Story" Special - Is there one toy/gift you really wanted as a kid and never got?
A real guitar. My parents bought me a plastic toy one.
14) The Indiana Jones Special ("Why did it have to be snakes?") - You're standing across the room from an object which you've chased across a continent. What would have to be between it and you to keep you from going for the object?
I'm not particularly fond of rats. I know it's irrational, and I probably could overcome it.
15) The Nick Hornby Special - What song/s do you return to over and over, for comfort, for pleasure?

16) The Frodo Special - Who's your Sam - who would follow you to the ends of the earth to help you do something you urgently needed to do? Or for whom are you a Sam?
I'm not sure I have a Sam. I would probably be Sam for either of my partners.
17) The Aragorn Special - What's the one quality your family or your parents have that you really don't want to inherit?
I think my family always does the best it can and I hope I do the same. I would rather not inherit my family's temper, but it's a little late for that.
18) The Gollum Special - What's a weakness or character flaw that you fear in yourself?
I can be pretty judgmental.
19) The "Clerks" Special - What's the worst job you ever had?
Telemarketer although working in a sheltered workshop comes in a close second.
20) The Proust Special - What's your favorite smell? What does it make you think of?
Leather, wood, it makes me think of a library.
21) The Jean Auel Special - Do you have a favorite/totemic animal? What is it, and why do you like it?
A few, leopard, Wolf, gecko, turtle. Leopard is closely related to my head deity, Xango, wolves or dogs seem to fit my personality. I'm basically a pack animal. The gecko and turtle are cold-blooded animals and I joke all the time about being a lizard. "All I need is the sun and a rock to lie on."
