I slept in and made Carol "cook". (She toasted me a peanut butter and butter sandwich.) Did some house organizing. Later Carol, Betty and I went to see Spider-Man 2 at the Bayfair. I think the hype got in the way of Carol enjoying the movie but I had a good time. The CGI was still a bit cartoony but I thought it was better than the first one. The fights were much more 3-D than before. I especially loved the commuter train scene. I'm a sucker for that weak guy standing up to the bully. All the passengers saying, "You got to go through me. If you want him." Got me all choked up. I know it's manipulative, I can't help it.

Then we went to the East Village for the best Chinese food in the SF Bay Area IMNSHO. I went home and Carol and Betty went to watch fireworks with a another friend of ours. I played Asheron's Call and tried to convince Gilly (my Dobie) that she really didn't need to do anything about the fireworks. Barking and running around the house would
not help. When Carol got home I had some Ben & Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch and went to bed.

I'm never sure how to handle the mood thing. I sort of made a promise to myself not to lie in this journal. Yet sometimes I feel like I should just skip the mood thing. I am really OK. I'm just not getting things done that I would like to get done. Can't seem to write. Feeling a little lonely (which is not a hint for you to do anything about that.) I like you keeping me company online. I'm not sure I even have the energy for company. Sometimes there's just no making me happy, sweetness. I'm not depressed. I'm not desperately unhappy. I don't think there's anything really wrong. I'm just a little sad.

*Hugs*

Wait -- the whole sandwich was toasted? Like, it was made first, then toasted?

*innocent look* there's another way? :-) No actually, we toast the bread and then put the peanut butter and butter on the bread.

Oh, okay. :) I was thinking that there was some whole peanut butter revolution that I was missing.

Which isn't to say that maybe I shouldn't try grilled peanut butter sandwiches sometime... Hmm...

I made a lot of grilled peanut-butter sandwiches as a teen -- crisp buttery bread and hot dripping peanut butter. (No bananas, though, so not quite Elvis style.)

We saw Spidey 2 today, also. I didn't say it during the movie but end credits bore me out: the train scene was filmed in Chicago in the Loop.

I liked the film as long as you ignore the fusion bits. :-)

I thought it might be!

Me too! Given its a movie about a kid who excretes web fluid out of his wrists(!?!), has super strength, speed and a "spidey" sense because he got bit by a genetically engineered radioactive spider. Ignoring the fusion bits wasn't too hard. :-)

It worked for me because of what followed. "OK then..."
