Yeah, yeah, yeah, people do a lot of growing up in twenty-five-plus years. But my face-to-face interactions with him did not leave a good impression, his performance at the 1977 Hugo Awards Banquet was an embarassment, and I've never liked him.
*shrug* I met him once while I was going to Southern Illinois University. He was part of Mobius Theatre at the time along with Martha Soucup (I'm not spelling her last name right). He was funny in a sci-fi fan sort of way. I enjoy some of his comics. My first SF convention was in North AmeriCon in 1979? So I have no idea what he was like in '77.
