Gilmore Girls
I just watched the first show of this season and was pretty disappointed.
I didn't like how last season ended. Lorelai giving Luke an ultimatum was wrong. I just don't believe she would to such a thing. Not giving Luke time to adjust to his new relationship with his daughter doesn't ring true. If anyone would give Luke a break it would be Lorelai. Yet she not only gives Luke an ultimatum, but when Luke doesn't respond completely as she wants him to she dashes off to fuck her ex. Just about guaranteeing they will breakup.
I think what disappoints me most about this whole storyline is that it is apparently the result of a contract dispute. Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband Daniel Palladino wanted to sign a two-year extension on their contract rather than a one year. Never mind that none of the principal actors were committed to anything beyond season 7. So it seems as a final "fuck you". Amy wrote the predicament that Lorelai and Luke are in now.
The new main writer is doing his best and there was some good bits in this season's premier episode. However I was left with a lot of disbelief in how the characters are acting and some sadness that the show will end this way.
