This television meme was snagged from
autographedcat by way of
serenejournal. The idea is to answer one question a day from the list below. (Yes, yes I'm way behind. Never mind the applicability of the day numbers. I'm just keeping the numbering because I'm anal that way. I'm slow at this but I'm still having fun answering them when I can, so moving right along :-) Today's is:
Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale.
Hmmm. It's probably The Prisoner, but then that whole show was WTF a lot of the time for me. I like it but the whole show had me scratching my head more often than not. I have read people who thought Lost's was confusing, but unlike many people I never really cared how the series ended. I loved all the mystery, the strange clues. Any ending was going to leave me disappointed.
Then there's St. Elsewhere's ending was one of those not really an ending as much as a total negation of the series. Here we spent years caring and worrying about these characters and then it all a hallucination or imaginary story in an autistic's mind. Of course the whole series and characters are made up, but somehow turning them into made-up characters within the series pissed me off. Of course the whole last season of Twin Peaks was just a mess too. Which has to rate honorable mention anyway.
Day 27 - Best pilot episode
West Wing has to be up there. Except for a misstep in CJ's character (done for a joke but still...), The episode is pretty near perfect. Lost's first episode is a good one. I also like Alias, Flash Forward, and Persons Unknown.
Day 28 - First t.v show obsession
I'm not sure which came first, Dark Shadows or Star Trek. I remember wanting to get home as soon as possible from school, so I could catch at least some of Dark Shadows. I often missed the first five or 10 minutes. I also remember trying to talk Dad into setting up the television, so I could catch Star Trek when we moved from La Puente (a suburb of Los Angeles) to Hacienda Heights (another suburb of Los Angeles).
Day 29 - Current t.v show obsession
Most of my obsessions get canceled these days, but here are a few. Dexter, the British version of Being Human (the American version is okay, but doesn't compare to the original), Stargate Universe (although it ends tonight), The Good Wife, Torchwood, and Dr. Who. The jury is still out, but Haven may turn into an obsession.
Day 30 - Saddest character death
Too many in no particular order: Angel's Winifred 'Fred' Burkle, Firefly/Serenity's Wash and Book, West Wing's Mrs. Landingham, M.A.S.H.'s Lt. Colonel Henry Blake, Torchwood's, Ianto Jones.
Lookee, lookee I finished the meme. It didn't take that long, did it?
