Thank you for applying to "American Candidate." We have been extremely impressed at the warmth, intelligence and strength of character that all of our applicants have shown. We greatly appreciate the enthusiasm and honesty with which you have shared your experiences and personal political views.

We received thousands of applications for each of the places in our on-air cast. While we wish all of our applicants could participate in the show, we were forced to narrow the field. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you a place in our final "American Candidate" cast.

We also want to thank those who have given us additional insights about their talents and interests via AmericanCandidate.com and we want to keep these voices in the mix. All candidates with Web pages are welcome to keep reaching the public through their Web page diaries until shortly before the show's Aug. 1 premiere on Showtime, and to keep their blue-star status on the Message Boards for the run of the show. I can't say that I'm not disappointed, but from the scuttlebutt on their web site, it's becoming clear to me that it was a good thing I wasn't chosen. It seems like the producers have decided to go the lowest common denominator. I hope I'm wrong, but I think the show is going to end up being pretty silly. Thank you for your support.

Dang! I thought you would have been particularly interesting to them. Oh well. Now I don't have to spend any brain cells worrying about the fact that the show is on cable, which we don't have. I'll continue to be happily un-hooked from that particular feeding tube. ;^)
